Terms & Conditions

These terms apply when you engage T&Y Website Engineers (“we”, “us”, “our”) for website design, development, photography or video services. By requesting a quote and accepting it, you agree to these terms. We'll always confirm the specifics of your project in writing before we begin.

01Quotes and pricing

Prices shown on this site are indicative ranges. Your final price is confirmed in a written quote based on your specific requirements. A quote is valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. Custom projects are quoted individually.

02Payment

Unless agreed otherwise, we ask for a deposit of 50% before work begins, with the balance due on completion and before the final site goes live. Payment terms and amounts are set out in your quote or invoice. Prices are in South African Rand (ZAR) and are inclusive of the media production stated for your package.

03Delivery & turnaround

Our work is delivered digitally. There is no physical shipping. Delivery means your finished website being deployed live to your domain (or handed over as files) together with the photography and video media produced for your project.

Turnaround depends on the package and is agreed in writing before we start: as a guide, a Startup site is typically 1–2 weeks, a Professional site 2–4 weeks, and an E-Commerce store 3–6 weeks from the point we have your deposit, content and a completed shoot. These are estimates in good faith; timelines that slip because we are waiting on your content, approvals or shoot access are not delays on our side. If we expect to miss an agreed date, we will tell you as soon as we know.

04Cancellation

You may cancel your project at any time by letting us know in writing (email or WhatsApp is fine). If you cancel before we have started, we cancel at no charge. If you cancel after work or a shoot has begun, the deposit is retained to cover the time, media production and materials already committed, and any work completed beyond the deposit will be invoiced at our standard rates.

We may also cancel a project — for example if we are unable to obtain the content, approvals or shoot access needed to proceed after reasonable requests, or if agreed payments are not made. In that case you are charged only for work completed up to that point.

05Refunds

Because our work is bespoke and time-based, deposits become non-refundable once work or a scheduled shoot has begun, as they cover work already carried out. If you cancel before any work has started, your deposit is refunded in full, less any third-party costs already incurred on your behalf.

• Completed and approved milestones are non-refundable.
• Third-party fees (such as domains, hosting, Shopify or PayFast charges) are paid to those providers and are not refundable by us.
• If something we delivered is genuinely faulty or not as agreed, we will fix it at no charge — a refund is not a substitute for us putting our own work right.
• Approved refunds are paid back to your original payment method within 14 business days.

Nothing in this section affects any rights you may have under the South African Consumer Protection Act.

06What's included

Every package except Custom includes professional photography and cinematic videography of your business at no extra cost. The exact scope, number of pages, features and revision rounds for your project are those listed in your accepted quote.

07Your responsibilities

To keep your project on track, we'll need timely access to information, content and approvals, and reasonable access to your premises and products for any photography or video shoot. Delays in providing these may affect your timeline.

08Revisions and changes

Your quote specifies how many rounds of revisions are included. Additional changes, or work beyond the agreed scope, may be quoted separately before we carry them out.

09Photography and video

Media we capture is produced for use on your website and agreed materials. We may showcase work we've produced in our own portfolio and marketing unless you ask us in writing not to.

10Ownership and handover

Once your project is fully paid for, the finished website and the media created for it are yours to own and use. Third-party platforms and services (such as Shopify, PayFast, hosting or domains) remain subject to their own terms and fees.

11Third-party services

Where your site uses services such as Shopify, PayFast, hosting or domain registrars, those services are provided by third parties under their own terms. We are not responsible for outages, changes or fees charged by those providers.

12Liability

We take great care in our work, but to the extent permitted by law our liability for any project is limited to the fees you have paid us for that project. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
